LEYLA arrived at the shelter in March 2023, abandoned by her owner who could no longer afford to support her.
She is an incredibly affectionate and intelligent Akita Inu bitch.
Unfortunately, she has an acute cataract in her right eye, and a milder one in her left. As a result, she can't see well at all! To prevent this from getting worse, she has to take cortisone morning and night for the rest of her life. The treatment costs around €50 a month.
Once she's used to her surroundings, LEYLA finds her way around perfectly. At first, you'll need to protect the corners of furniture and keep her basket, bowls, etc. in the same place.
When out for a walk, you'll need to watch out for any obstacles. However, for identical walks, she'll adapt without a problem.
LEYLA is at ease with children, but under the watchful eye of her parents.
She tolerates solitude, is housebroken, gets on well with other dogs and chases cats purely as a game.
LEYLA can live in an apartment as long as she's taken out 3 or 4 times a day, but a garden would be a plus.
She is also used to transportation by car.
LEYLA needs a peaceful, tidy, secure environment and a family who are present, supportive, loving and understanding.
