MONSIEUR GEORGE was seized in a clandestine zoo where living conditions were catastrophic. The animals were knee-deep in mud and wading in their own excrement. The zebus, very shy animals, were difficult to capture.
MONSIEUR GEORGE is very shy of the caretakers, which makes it difficult to care for him. When he feels cornered, he can be quite threatening. Socializing with him takes time, but the caretakers are patient and determined to establish a relationship of trust. He is protective of other cattle in the herd, showing his protective instincts and loyalty.
The animal must live with at least one other conspecific.
