The story of ISALINE is unfortunately all too common in animal protection circles. A resident of Bastogne initially had one male and three females, but having failed to have the male castrated, he soon found himself overwhelmed by more than forty pigs. As a reminder, a sow can give birth to around ten piglets per litter, which explains how quickly the population exploded.
Fortunately, all the pigs were taken in by various shelters. There, they found an environment more suited to their needs, where they can live serenely, far from the overpopulated and neglected conditions in which they found themselves. ISALINE, like so many others, finally had the chance of a better life thanks to the intervention of animal protection associations.
Living in such a large group has made ISALINE very sociable. She's used to living in a community and has developed strong bonds with her fellow dogs. However, this experience has also made her very shy of humans. Despite her sociability with other pigs, she remains wary and aloof when it comes to interacting with humans, probably due to the lack of positive interactions in her past.
The animal must live with at least one other conspecific and have access to water.
Adoption only possible with an "permit to keep animals".
