QASHQAI came to us following a seizure for abuse. When we arrived, we discovered a young mare locked in a stall for over six months. When we opened the door to her stall, a thick layer of manure over 60 cm thick presented itself to us. The mare was very weak, using the last of her strength to stand during transport. On arrival at the shelter, she collapsed and had to be rushed to the veterinary clinic.
She was at the end of her tether and had to spend ten days in a harness to help her stand. After a month in hospital and intensive care, she was able to return to the shelter.
Today, QASHQAI is a lively mare, very sociable with other horses and people. She loves to be cared for, and she lets us know this with tenderness.
None of our horses may be ridden or used for commercial purposes.
The animal must live with at least one other conspecific.
Adoption only possible with an "permit to keep animals".
